FAQ's
Trak Ground Wear makes performance gear designed to support the way the body actually moves. Our first product, the Trak Compression Sock, was developed over four years with Dr. Eric Goodman, founder of Foundation Training, and tested with the University of Central Florida School of Physical Therapy. It uses zone-specific compression to guide, activate, and support the foot — not just squeeze it. The result is real circulation benefits, an arch that does its own job instead of relying on something else to hold it up, and toes that are actually free to do what toes are built to do.
Most compression socks apply the same pressure everywhere. Trak doesn't. Different parts of your foot need different things — your calf wants gentle wraparound compression, your arch wants to be lifted, your ankle wants to be guided, your toes want space to spread. Trak is built to deliver each of those, in the right place, at the right tension. Most compression socks pin your toes together and call it a day. We left the toe box open on purpose.
The sock has four zones, each doing a different job. The Wrap is light spiral compression around the calf and shin that helps with circulation and recovery. The Lift runs along the sides of the foot up into the calf and gently lifts the arch with every step. The Foundation is two high-tension strips along the arch and metatarsals that work in opposition — the way your foot's natural fascia does — to spread weight evenly. The Guide wraps the ankle hinge and keeps movement fluid without restricting your range. None of the zones squeeze your toes.
Toes that can't spread can't stabilize you. Most compression socks pin them together — fine for circulation, not great for balance, gait, or any of the foot's actual mechanical jobs. Trak leaves the toes free so they can splay, grip, and interact with the ground the way they were built to. You feel the difference on the first wear.
Most people notice it on the first wear — the arch lifted, the toes with space, the ankle stable without being stiff. The deeper benefits build with consistent wear: better gait, less fatigue, improved balance, less compensation upstream in the knees, hips, and back. Early UCF rehabilitation testing showed immediate single-leg balance improvement during first wear. Strength gains come from repetition.
Dr. Eric Goodman, a doctor of chiropractic and the founder of Foundation Training.Dr. Goodman has spent twenty-plus years working with people on chronic pain — everyone from patients in his clinic to Olympic and elite athletes including Chris Hemsworth, Rickson Gracie, Lakey Peterson, and Jeff Bridges. Foundation Training has more than 1,500 certified instructors worldwide. Trak takes the principles he's used clinically for two decades and builds them into something you can wear every day.
Yes. Trak has been in development with the University of Central Florida School of Physical Therapy. Early gold-standard rehabilitation testing showed immediate improvement in single-leg balance while wearing the socks. Peer review and full publication are in progress. We'll share the studies as they go live.

When in doubt, size down. The compression should feel noticeable, and a slightly snugger fit will engage the right zones better than a loose one.
Noticeable, not crushing. Trak should feel like a gentle hug with intent — you'll feel the arch lift and the support around the ankle, but no pinching, no numbness, no struggling to get them on. If they feel like nothing, they're too big. If they hurt, they're too small.
Size down. Trak is built to work with your foot, not just sit on it.
When you're moving. Trak's activation comes from the interaction between the sock and the foot in motion, so the sock works hardest during workouts, walks, commutes, long days on your feet, and travel. Some people wear them for a few hours; others put them on in the morning and forget about them.
Yes, for most people. If you're new to compression and not used to the sensation, start with a few hours and build up. Listen to your body — if something feels off, take them off.
Both, but mostly the former. Trak is designed primarily as a movement and activation tool — the more you walk, run, train, and move in them, the more your body benefits. The compression also supports circulation and recovery, which is why a lot of wearers reach for them on travel days and after long shifts. The one thing they're not is a passive sock you put on after a workout and lie still in.
Yes to all. Trak was designed to be worn under any footwear, including work boots and dress shoes. Marc, our co-founder, originally asked Dr. Goodman if they could build something that worked inside the construction-style boots he wears every day. Footwear constraints were part of the brief from day one.
Trak is designed to support the kind of foot mechanics that, when working well, can reduce strain on common pain points like the plantar fascia, the Achilles, and the lower back. Many early wearers with plantar fasciitis have reported relief. That said, Trak is not a medical device, and we're not going to claim it cures anything. If you have a specific condition, talk to your doctor or PT first. If you're working with a physical therapist, share Trak with them — we designed it with the clinical community in mind.
